Singapore Aquatics (SAQ), the National Sports Association governing aquatic sports in Singapore, unveiled Hwa Chong International School (HCIS) as its first partner in the Performance Development Centre (PDC) programme on 19 October 2023. The PDC aims to expand swimmer pathways and maximise the utilisation of swimming pools in Singapore, with HCIS being the pioneer school to collaborate with SAQ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under this partnership, AquaTech Swimming Club will use the HCIS pool, while assisting the school with its internal aquatics programme and competitions. Teong Tzen Wei, the 50m butterfly silver medallist at the recent 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, and his fellow AquaTech and national swimmers Ashley Lim, Zachary Ian Tan, Zackery Tay and Glen Lim, were also at HCIS to conduct a swim clinic yesterday to commemorate the launch of the PDC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms Linda Lee, Principal of HCIS said \u201cHwa Chong International School is thrilled to be the first school to collaborate with Singapore Aquatics to develop the Singapore Aquatics\u2019 Performance Development Centre programme.
