On 14 March, Hwa Chong International School celebrated its 106th Founders’ Day with a meaningful Prize-Giving and Scholarship Award Ceremony.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Guest of Honour, Professor Cheah Horn Mun, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Dean of the College of Interdisciplinary & Experiential Learning at SUSS, for graciously taking time to join us for the occasion.
We were also honoured by the presence of Dr Sia Nam Chie, Chairman of the Singapore Chinese High School Board of Directors, along with esteemed members of the Board of Directors, School Management Committee, and Board of Trustees. Their presence, together with HCIS principals, teachers, parents, and award recipients, made the celebration all the more special.
In his address, Professor Cheah spoke on the topic “Learning for Life, Learning as Life,” and extended his congratulations to the award recipients and graduating HCIS students. He also commended the School’s leadership team, along with its academic and non-academic staff, for their dedicated contributions to the School’s continued success.
In his address, Dr Sia Nam Chie emphasized the significance of heritage and identity, stating, “Without HCI, there will be no HCIS.” He expressed his hope that this important message will not only be remembered by all, but also passed on to future generations.
