Information Session and International Education Expo in Thailand
Ms Linda Lee (The Principal) and two Admission staff visited Thailand to conduct an information session and participate in the OCSC International Education Expo from 20 to 22 October.
During the information session for parents, the Principal shared on the school curriculum and academic programmess, followed by Q & A. Our alumnus, Chongton Limthanarkhom, was also present to share his experiences at HCIS. He conversed in the Thai language with the parents who were present, facilitating a better connection, particularly for those who were not well-versed in English.
The next 2 days were spent at the OCSC International Education Expo 2023. The team engaged with a number of prospective students and parents at the HCIS booth, addressing their inquiries and guiding them on the admission process. The inquiries spanned from Year 1 to IB1 programs, with a focus on the senior years (Year 3 onwards).
One of our prospective students' families came down specially to say 'Hi.' Their son has been offered placement in Year 2 program for next year and the family is eagerly looking forward to him joining HCIS. An alumnus who graduated in 2010 also dropped by the HCIS booth. He was surprised and shared his delight at the school’s growth and progress since he graduated. There were also opportunities to network with other university partners and exchanged contacts for potential collaborations.
Overall, response at the exhibition was beyond expectations. HCIS was the only high school from Singapore there. During the interactions with parents, many shared the increasing popularity of the IB programme in recent years and highlighted the limited availability of IB schools in Thailand.
The OCSC International Education Expo provided a strong platform for HCIS to gain publicity and raise the awareness amongst students, parents and local schools in Thailand.
