Ms Linda Lee (Principal), Mr Mike Lam (Dy Dir of Admin Ops) and Ms Esther Zhang (Asst Head of Admissions & Student Services) went on a trip to Korea from 30th June to 3rd July 2022 to visit several top schools and participate in recruitment events.

The three key personnel paid a call on Pai Chai Middle School and High School, a top school in Seoul with a rich heritage and history. Information on our HCIS scholarships was shared with them as we seek to award scholarships to outstanding Grade 9 graduates of Pai Chai Middle School who are interested to further their studies in Singapore. Discussion on student exchange programmes with Pai Chai High School also concluded on an optimistic note. In addition, a visit to Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) also proved to be fruitful, as the HCIS team gathered pertinent information on university addition requirements as well as scholarship opportunities that would benefit both international and Korean students.

Besides school visits, an information session for parents was also organized at the Daechi2 Arts Center on 30th June, during which Ms Linda Lee shared our HCIS history, school curriculum and achievements with the attendees. On 2nd July, our key personnel took part in a “Study in Singapore Education Fair”, where Korean families dropped by the HCIS booth to inquire about our admissions and scholarship programme.

Through this trip, we were able to acquire a deeper understanding of the Korean educational landscape, share vital information about HCIS with Korean parents and students and establish meaningful relationships with top Korean schools for potential school collaborations.
