Dr. Liang Yong was awarded the Distinguished Chinese Language Teachers Award 2021.

We would like to congratulate Dr. Liang Yong (Education Consultant / China Studies in Chinese curriculum) for receiving the Distinguished Chinese Language Teachers Award 2021. The award is given in recognition of teachers who made an exemplary effort in the teaching of the Chinese language and culture amid these challenges.

Dr. Liang Yong is 1 of 8 teachers who received the award from Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education, at a ceremony at Singapore Press Holdings' News Centre on 11 September. They were selected from a pool of about 340 teachers from 163 schools in the country.

Dr. Liang is humbled to be affirmed with the award, and acknowledges that it is a blessing to teach some of our most talented and passionate youths in the country. Dr Liang’s students have benefitted immensely from his innovative and hands-on approach to teaching, which involves students participating in mock televised debates on contemporary issues. He is a pillar in the Bicultural Studies Programme since its inception, and has been teaching China Studies in Chinese since 2007.
