It fills us with sadness to hear of the passing of our former Principal Mr. Wu Tsung Kan. Our thoughts are with his family, to whom we extend our sincere condolences.

Since the 70's, the late Mr Wu Tsung Kan contributed significantly to Singapore’s education, especially in his capacity as the Assistant Director of Education.

Mr Wu was the second Principal of then Hwa Chong Junior College (HCJC) from 1976 to 1979, where he played an important role in building a vibrant college culture and establishing the institution as a choice junior college in Singapore.

After HCJC Mr Wu joined Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in 1979 as its President. There, he played a pivotal role in the revival of the academy and was instrumental in the development of Singapore’s arts education and cultural scene.

While we are saddened by Mr Wu’s passing, we know that his dedication and selfless contribution to Hwa Chong and Singapore will always be fondly remembered.

Mr Wu Tsung Kan's legacy will continue to inspire Hwa Chongians of all generations to serve the school and nation with passion and compassion.
