The Art of Chinese Cloisonné Enamel — Past and Present

Chinese cloisonné is a beautiful craft that mixes metalwork with colourful glass. This unique art involves shaping thin wires onto copper to create a design and filling the spaces with vibrant enamel paste. It amalgamates, bringing together the beauty of painting, the precision of craftsmanship, and the richness of traditional Chinese culture heritage.

Join us to discover the history, evolvement, and basic production process of Chinese cloisonné, as well as understand the symbolic meanings behind iconic motifs such as lotus flowers, auspicious clouds and peonies. Participants will also have the chance to create their own cloisonné coasters!

Please note that this workshop will be conducted in Chinese, and limited places are available. All are welcome, and admission is FREE!

There will also be, at the end of the workshop, an overview of all the various HCIS Asian Cultural Workshops we have conducted this year. Light refreshments will be provided.
